More family reunion photos

The reunion was great and it was awesome to see my grandson Ollie. He is such a special little guy. He has the friendliest smile and is such a good natured little tike.

What a smile!

Hey JJ, it's tough being sooooooo cool!

My Aunt got Ollie a little car toy and she got Momoka a darling little hat. Momoka and Ollie both enjoyed the car toy and our gal was quite precious in her little hat. Momoka looks so cute in her hat don't you think?

Our gal cut her first tooth while we were at the reunion. It is the right lower front tooth and is now poking right up through her little gum. She is now armed with something besides baby slobber - LOOK OUT! When eating she will use that little tooth to grip onto the spoon. Momma has some metal spoons coated in soft plastic at the end and she will bite right down on the plastic part of the spoon and play tug of war. She doesn't play around too long because since she is kuishinbo she is always ready for that next bite of chow.

Speaking of food, Momma's sister and her son visited us right after the reunion. They brought some new food and other items for Momoka from Japan. Momoka got some carrots, potatoes and pumpkin which she enjoys. She has also been eating apples and prunes as well as blueberry, bananna, vanilla and apple yogurt. Momoka is still eating fish, edamame, tomatoes and corn and enjoys eating them very much. She is eating two meals a day now and we have also started her on diluted juice twice a day. Momma tried juice in a sippy cup yesterday and it went OK but it was obvious that we need to practice that a bit more. It seems to me that drinking is a harder skill to master than eating so we'll just take it a little at a time.

We can't believe she will be seven months old Friday of next week. Where does the time go?

  1. SUCH cuties - Ollie and Momoka are! Looks like you had a great time at your Dosokai in Texas...hopefully the weather wasn't TOO bad.

  2. Jennifer, thanks for the nice words about Ollie. He is quite the little man. I can't really complain about hot weather to someone who lives in Arizona can I? Well, one difference is the humidity. One day we were there it was 100 degrees and 95% humidity at 1030. It might not be as hot but it sure is sticky. The reunion was great, Momoka was quite a hit and my wife and I had a great time showing her off to relatives we seldomly get to see because of our vagabond military lifestyle.
