She can say "Kitty chan"

Well, I can't believe it but she can say "Kitty chan". Listen close and she says both "Kitty chan" and "Kitty" in this little video . . . .

Lucky for Momochan I will be in Japan next week and can corner the market on Kitty chan stuff and bring it back in my suitcase. Cho kawaii Momochan!

Video shorts

Three great videos. Momma sends me pictures and these little videos every day while I have been gone. It is great to be able to see what Momoka is up to and what she is doing. Momoka is starting to say some words like wan wan (dog in Japanese), chu chu (mouse in Japanese) and Pooh (cash in the language of Disney). In the middle video she does say "pooh" at the end.

I like my Minnie Mouse hat . . . .

Pooh is very, very tasty . . . .

Such a nice girl to feed your froggy and Elmo . . . .

She sure is getting big!

I like to feed myself now

When I got back from Haiti I was really looking forward to spending some time with Momoka and one of my favorite activities is to feed her. She generally likes to eat and has gotten really good at letting you know what she likes and doesn't like. The first few times I fed her after my return she was a little more bossy and picky and was generally throwing a small tantrum about half way through the meal. I was kind of at a loss and thought well, maybe she wants to try this eating thing herself. Momma brushes her teeth at night and she is squirmy unless she has her own little toothbrush to hold onto. She doesn't actually try to brush her teeth, she just has to have a tooth brush in her little mitt to sit still.

When I gave her a spoon she immediately stuck it into her food and started eating. She loves to feed herself and is very proud when she does a good job at getting food into her mouth. Here's a shot of our gal eating some scrambled eggs and rice. She's wearing the food and it's probably all over the floor as well but you can tell by the big smile on that gorgeous little face that she is so proud of herself.

Great job Momochan!

Momma sent me this picture and I had to post it on Momoka's page. I guess posting from Korea isn't going to be a problem so whenever momma sends me a gem like the one above I will post it as soon as possible.

Gone fishing again

Sorry, I know this blog is supposed to be about Momoka but it seems like it has been more about me recently. I hope I can get back to regular posting soon because, well, I'm gone again and had to leave my girls behind. I am currently in Korea supporting exercise Key Resolve and will be here through 21 March. I'll then do a short swing back through Japan to Okinawa and Yokohama and then back to Hawaii. I sure miss my gals but at least on this trip I am not sleeping under the stars eating MRE's. A nice hotel, hot chow and showers and clean clothes tend to change your perspective a bit.

The purchase of cute Miki House clothes and Anpanman toys and videos will be the highlight of this trip to be sure.

I have included a couple of recent photos. Below is me waiting to board the C-2 to go down to Haiti. A Navy C-2 is kind of like a flying truck you can configure for passengers as well. We left from Naval Air Station Jacksonville for USS CARL VINSON. I got half my carrier quals done as we trapped on VINSON. Great experience. I got on an SH-60 next and flew in to the American Embassy where I started my little Caribbean vacation.

Yes, that's an Army uniform I am wearing. Since I am currently assigned to an Army unit I am authorized to wear the ACU per US Navy Uniform Regulations. The Navy has stopped supporting the CUU and no longer has a tactical uniform with the exception of the digi-smurf. Thankfully I was able to wear the ACU since the digi-smurf, aside from looking ridiculous, is a poor tactical uniform, is not well made and is not designed for hot, dusty environments.

After eating these and drinking bottles of hot water in Haiti it sure was nice to get back to CONUS and have a couple of these cold oat sodas.

Great to be back in the good ole' USA.

Momma and the baby did great while I was deployed. Momma sent me lots of pictures and little video clips of Momoka so I could keep up with what she was doing. I was downrange for almost a month and couldn't believe what my little gal was doing and what she had learned while I was gone. She became much more vocal, much more bossy, much more mobile and a heck of a lot pickier on what she'll eat now. Here's a picture of my gal's having a picnic at Ala Moana Beach Park.

Here's a couple shots of my gal. Hard to believe she will be 14 months old in a couple of days!

Eating some soba . . . . . .

She sure has gotten big! Go Momoka go!

When I get back from Korea I will post some more pictures and movies of Momoka. I sure hope she doesn't change too much while I am gone.
