Well, I've thought about it and I still DO NOT like Santa

See, I told you - I really DO NOT like Santa, but I hope he likes me because I need some new toys!

Here's a picture of our gal with her Jiji and Baba at our office Christmas party. She sure has enjoyed all the extra attention and hams it up more than ever (except around Santa).

Well, she slept on it and she still doesn't have too many good things to say about old Saint Nick. Here's her feelings about the jolly old elf one day later . . . . . . .

I DO NOT like Santa

Well, I think the video pretty much says it all. We even tried some photos with me holding Momochan next to Santa - no go. She has yet to exhibit a fear of strangers, at least not until today. Poor little Momochan!

Who is this Santa guy anyway?

Our gal is doing just great. Her Jiji and Baba are here and she is in heaven. Now she has the undivided attention of four adults and has been taking every opportunity to ham it up.

Weather here has been great - sunny and in the low 80's during the day, upper 60's at night. For those who "love their seasons" all I can say is I hope you're enjoying the weather you currently have. Me, I'll take the endless summer every time.

Our gal now has eight teeth and can go to town on any foods that get close. Tonight at dinner she was so grabby, reaching for my plate and then momma's plate. She just loves to use those chompers.

Tomorrow our gal is going to see Santa. Hope she's nice and not naughty!

My adoption is final - YEAH!

- We got some great news today - Momoka's adoption is final and Momoka is now officially a Shafer. Momma and I are so proud and happy. YIPPIE!
- Our little gal is doing great. She has finally decided it's her time to crawl so she is now crawling and cruising. Yesterday she crawled from her usual perch on her playmats across the kitchen to the baby gate where she pulled herself up and started cruising around the kitchen appliances. Too mobile!
- Here's a few action shots of our gal taken the last couple of weeks. Enjoy!

I love my gohan spoon

Happy Thanksgiving! I had turkey, green beans, sweet potatoes, corn and yogurt with prunes.

Shovel it in faster Daddy! I love my turkey day food! YUMMY!

You wouldn't think it in Hawaii but it has been cool at night here. Of course, cool is geographically relative so we would have considered the current weather in Hawaii to be quite nice compared to what the weather is like in DC in December. We do live up in the mountains here so it's been cooler up here that it has down near the coast. Momma decided to get some feety PJ's for our gal to she'd be toasty warm while she snoozed. Here's our gal modeling her piggy feety PJ's.

Here's our gal wearing her monkey feety PJ's. Too cute! I think she likes wearing this style of PJ's because she stays nice and warm all night long. Even when it's cool in her room she will always kick off her blanket for some reason and would wake up with cold little feet and hands. Not anymore! Feeties to the rescue!

Our little cruiser

Here's a shot of our gal cruising around the kitchen. She spends about half of her play time vertical looking for something to walk around. She is really quite good and has gained a lot of balance and dexterity. This morning she cruised around half the kitchen and was very, very interested in cabinet doors and drawers. We're not too worried yet because she still needs some help to get over to the danger areas but I can see the day coming (soon) when we're going to have to lash all unstowed gear to the deck and set circle william on all fittings throughout the ship.
Momma is worried she is going to knock on knot on her pretty little noggin while cruisin' around so she knitted Momoka a cute little hat. The little towel secures the knitted noggin proctector onto baby's melon. Works good and just like in the the picture in a previous post - the towel that made Momochan look like Mozart - is all about baby safety.
Gotta love Momma.

Don't you just love this t-shirt?

The t-shirt says "This is what a Japanese princess looks like". Momoka is our little princess for sure. Sorry for the blurry picture but Momoka wouldn't stand still. We were in a restaurant called "Anna Miller's" on Kamehameha Hwy and it was busy so Momoka had too much people watching going on to stand still. If you're ever in town stop by there and have a slice of macadamia nut pie - tasty.

Happy Halloween!

Here's some photos of our gal in her Halloween costume. She was so cute. The little Pooh suit was just adorable and made her little cheeks look even chubbier than they normally do. The bad part about living in Hawaii is a cute little costume like this turns out to be a cute little sauna costume after a few minutes. This would have been great some place with cooler weather.

Momoka loved looking out at all the trick or treaters as they stopped by. It was great to see so many happy little faces. The kids on our post were so nice to Momoka and had such great manners. Momma and I had so much fun watching the baby's reactions and talking to the little ones.

It's hard to believe our gal will be ten months old soon. Thanksgiving, JJ and BB's visit, Christmas, New Year and then our gal's birthday. Busy, busy, busy.

Please remember 11 November is Veteran's Day. Take some time to think about the sacrifices our Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines and Coast Guarsdmen make for us as they stand the watch around the globe keeping us safe and free. Please keep them and their families in your thoughts and prayers as we head into this very special holiday season. Mahalo.
